Every Weekend Release Pushed Back
Hadouken! have announced that their new album, Every Weekend, has been pushed back for release on 18th March, a month after originally scheduled. This follows the release of their most successful single to date, Levitate. Luckily some of us have already heard the album... :)

Yet Another New Hadouken! Single
Yes, another Hadouken! single will be premiered on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show at some point (no specific time is given, but it will probably be soon after 19.30 GMT) tomorrow (16th January). The song is called Levitate, and is taken from the band's upcoming third album, entitled Every Weekend, which is due out 18th February.
The release is technically the seventh release from the new album - following Mecha Love and Oxygen (which are bonus tracks included with the album), Parasite and Bad Signal (released as the first 'proper' singles from the album last year), Bliss Out (included in FIFA 13) and Daylight (released as a single with Drumsound & Bassline Smith). This means that after tomorrow, only five tracks will remain relatively unknown - except for the fact that many different previews have already made their way onto the web in various forms, and that one track (Spill Your Guts) is just another producer's single with vocals on top (it sounds amazing though!) That leaves us with The Vortex, Stop Time and The Comedown as relative unknowns, and As One for those who saw the band on their April tour last year. This album has been a long time coming!

Song Of The Year 2012
The winner of Music Madness' song of the year 2012 is:
Hadouken! - Bad Signal
I know that this may seem like an odd choice, but the simple fact of the matter is that I have played this a gazillion times since its release, and it just won't get old! It's a move away from the new-rave stylings of their debut album and their aggressive, heavier follow-up, now taking on elements of dance and dubstep, along with a killer sample for a chorus. The lyrics may not be to everyone's taste - talks of news feeds, notifications, trending and SMS take on the world of social media, and are spat out at rapid rap-style pace. I've seen it live as well this year, and it went down a storm and a half. It bodes very well for the album it is taken from, Every Weekend, due out next year. I'm fairly sure you won't see this as anyone else's song of the year, but I don't care. It's amazing. Now everybody sing! "YOU DON'T REALLY LOVE ME, YOU JUST KEEP ME HANGING ON!"
The song will be on the Songs of the Week section of the blog until 7th January, when we'll be back to normal weekly updates. See you in the New Year!

Where Is Everyone?
So I have been posting a lot less recently... mainly because none of the bands I follow are doing anything! After the release of The Twang's 10:20 today, I have no albums on the horizon to anticipate until January, when Biffy Clyro will grace our speakers with a double album! Whilst this time of year is usually barren in terms of releases, there is usually some form of news; some promise that music is coming soon, but in the latter end of 2012... nothing. So, while I'm scouring the Internet for new bands to enjoy in the meantime, I decided to have a catch-up on what all the other bands are doing, and of course provide the information here. So, where is everyone?
The Courteeners - Their third album has apparently been recorded, and are currently in the process of sorting out a promotional campaign to go with it. A few songs have been debuted live, but hopefully more will appear at the end of the year as the band are playing a few gigs then.
TRACK TITLES: Welcome To The Rave, Lose Control, Push Yourself, Save Rosemary In Time, Why Are You Still With Him?, Something You Can't Have
ESTIMATED RELEASE DATE: February
Delphic - The band have started playing gigs and started debuting some new songs to follow their Olympics single Good Life. Their second album has been recorded, but no word on where the release stands.
TRACK TITLES: Good Life, Atlas, Memeo, Baiya, Changes
ESTIMATED RELEASE DATE: April
Editors - After a re-jigging of their line-up for album number four, the band are now at work on said album. A few tracks have been played live to whet our appetites, and some have even gone through noticeable changes as the line-up changed. Hopefully some more details will arise around December as the band are playing XFM Winter Wonderland then.
TRACK TITLES: Sugar, Nothing, Two Hearted Spider, The Sting, Magazine, Upright, What Is This Thing Called Love?, Honesty, The Weight Of Your Love, Formaldehyde
ESTIMATED RELEASE DATE: April
Embrace - The band's sixth album has been in the pipeline for several years now, and promise something will appear soon, but there isn't much to go on, apart from one track title!
TRACK TITLES: Self Attack Mechanism
ESTIMATED RELEASE DATE: June
Glasvegas - After NME mistakenly reported a title for the band's third album, it came out that the album was practically done, but remained untitled. A song called If? was also put online in demo form.
TRACK TITLES: If?, I'd Rather Be Dead Than Be With You, Later... When The TV Turns To Static, All I Want Is My Baby
ESTIMATED RELEASE DATE: March
Hadouken! - Well, this one is taking forever. After two singles in 2010, which may not feature on the album, the band followed this up by another one in April, one in August, had another song feature on FIFA 13, did a collaboration with Drumsound & Bassline Smith, and also debuted three further songs at their live shows in April! That's practically an album in itself! Just release it already - the songs are fantastic!
TRACK TITLES: Vessel, Parasite, Mecha Love, Oxygen, Comedown, Bliss Out, Daylight, Levitate, Bad Signal, As One
ESTIMATED RELEASE DATE: April
Klaxons - Not too much info available on this one, but there is a third album, and the band have debuted two songs live.
TRACK TITLES: Rhythm Of Life, Invisible Forces
ESTIMATED RELEASE DATE: May
One Night Only - The band are slowly building up tracks for their third album, and are reportedly about halfway through the process. One song has been released (Long Time Coming) and another (Games) should surface soon... hopefully!
TRACK TITLES: Long Time Coming, Games, Night On Earth
ESTIMATED RELEASE DATE: August
The Pigeon Detectives - Firing out a fourth album not that long after their third, the band should be back sometime not far into the new year. However, nothing is really known about it! Maybe some of their gigs in November will reveal some more...
TRACK TITLES: I Don't Mind
ESTIMATED RELEASE DATE: March
White Lies - Nothing is known about this one, other than a third album is in the works, after two phenomenal ones. Let's hope it lives up to its predecessors!
TRACK TITLES: ?
ESTIMATED RELEASE DATE: September

Hadouken! Push Back Album Release
Hadouken! fans may have even longer to wait for the band's third album - while previously reports said it would be out in September, now we're looking at an early 2013 release. So far two singles have been released from it - "Parasite" and "Bad Signal" - and more are set to be released over the next few months. It is believed that the next one will be titled "Bliss Out", which will surface in August / September.

Hadouken! To Unleash Another Single
Hadouken! have announced that their next single, "Bad Signal", will be played on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show at 7:30pm (BST) tomorrow (Tuesday 12th June). The song is taken from the band's upcoming third album, which is currently untitled, but is due for release in September.

Hadouken! New Album Rumours
There are a couple rumours floating about regarding the new Hadouken! album - firstly, that it will be released on September 24th - can't find anything to back that up, so take that with a pinch of salt! Secondly, there is a tracklist, but I don't think the band have finished the album yet, nor do I think Mecha Love and Oxygen will be on there... Still, here's the "tracklist". More pinches of salt needed.
1. Vessel
2. Parasite
3. Mecha Love
4. Oxygen
5. Comedown
6. Bliss Out
7. Daylight
8. Levitate
9. Bad Signal
10. As One
Aside from the unlikely inclusion of Mecha Love and Oxygen, Parasite has been released as a single; Vessel, Levitate, Bad Signal and As One were all played on their April UK tour, and I have heard clips of the songs Comedown, Bliss Out and Daylight, so it is a plausible tracklist, but I wouldn't count on it. When it is all confirmed, we'll have it up here on the blog.

Hadouken! To Unveil New Song
Hadouken! have announced that they will be sending a new song, Parasite, to radio, on 12th April on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show from 7pm. The song has been previewed in a trailer recently, but has been made private, unfortunately.
The single is from the band's upcoming third album, which is currently untitled. It is unknown whether it will feature previous singles Mecha Love and Oxygen, but other rumoured song titles are Vessel, Levitate, Vortex and Cosmic (although not confirmed).
EDIT: The song is now available for free download on the band's official website.

Best Of 2010 - #8
Hadouken! - For The Masses

Original full review here.
First of all, I would like to express my bewilderment at the professional critics, who have mostly given this album negative reviews. I happen to think that this is a great album - it is catchy and the tunes stick with you. It does what it sets out to do in sounding amazing and massive, and despite the underlying sense of aggression that runs through it, it's one of the best albums I heard this year.
Hadouken! sound like they've gone for bigger and better than their first album. In a lot of ways it works, but in others, they still sound a little ridiculous (Ugly's lyrics, for example), but they can still turn it around and make it fantastic by the end. Nevertheless, this is a good progression from their first album.
SCORE

Lots Of Lovely New Albums...
Some various news for some upcoming albums:
White Lies (second album due out 17th January): The album is now set to have 10 tracks, not 11 as previously reported. There are now nine song titles; five of which we've heard from live versions (Bigger Than Us, Holy Ghost, Strangers, Street Lights and Is Love) and four unheard as of yet (Peace And Quiet, Turn The Bells, The Power And The Glory and Come Down). Peace And Quiet has been described as a massive departure from the normal White Lies sound, and The Power And The Glory as an 80s-influenced electro epic song.
Snow Patrol (sixth album expected mid-2011): The new album is set to have a massive electronic influence, according to various sources.
Elbow (fifth album expected mid-2011): Their new record has been described as bigger in some aspects and yet subtler in others. Frontman Guy Garvey believes it will not have the same commercial impact as their previous album, The Seldom Seen Kid.
Hadouken! (potential third album due out next year): A new song has been confirmed to get its first airing sometime in October/November. Rumours about a third album have not yet been confirmed or denied, but on the band's MySpace page, you can see "The next chapter coming soon," so it may be true after all!
Ladytron (fifth album expected sometime next year): Aside from a compilation featuring two new songs to be released late 2010, Ladytron have been working on their fifth album; however not much is known about it.
Hard-Fi (third album expected early 2011): Not much known about this, apart from five song titles: Sweat, Killer Sounds, Bring It On, Give It Up and Feels Good. Their Rockin' The City podcasts have samples of Sweat (here) and Feels Good (here). Also, here's a sample of Bring It On.
Pet Shop Boys: No new album, but a compilation "Ultimate" is set to be released November 2010. It will include a new song, "Together".
The View (third album expected early 2011): Not much news about this other than it has been recorded. Two songs are known: Underneath The Lights and Tragic Magic.
And last but certainly not least:
The Pigeon Detectives (third album expected early 2011): The new album has been recorded, but absolutely no other information as far as I can see.

Hadouken! For A New Album?
Even though Hadouken!'s second album, For The Masses, was only released this January, there are rumours of a follow-up album already, due out next year. No other information is known.
I think this is probably untrue, though. But if it is true, this is good news!

Album Review: Hadouken! - For The Masses
Album: For The Masses
Artist: Hadouken!
Singles: M.A.D., Turn The Lights Out
First of all, I would like to express my bewilderment at the professional critics, who have mostly given this album negative reviews. I happen to think that this is a great album - it is catchy and the tunes stick with you.
Rebirth
An epic opener that slowly builds up and up until the opening vocals come in halfway through. I can imagine this one working absolutely fantastically live.
Turn The Lights Out
The most recent single, perhaps overplayed by Radio 1 but nevertheless a fantastic song, perhaps the best on the album. The album version is half a minute longer, but doesn't add anything interesting to the mix.
M.A.D.
The original first single, which by now, after several plays, seems slightly out of place on the album, but it's still a great tune. Lyrically, maybe a bit basic ("Bring it on, you can bang the drum") but does that really matter?
Evil
Catchy from the get go, and another one I can imagine working nicely live.
House Is Falling
Another catchy one. Maybe overusing the line "Do you know you're breaking on me" wasn't a brilliant idea, because after a while it just gets boring. Thankfully, the drums building up behind it turns it into fantastic, and the ending sounds weird and unexpected but perfect.
Mic Check
A very danceable track, especially the background music during the chorus.
Ugly
I loved the dub mix on the M.A.D. EP released all the way back in September, and although this one's more powerful, I have to agree with the professional critics here and say that the lyrics are ridiculous. But if it's the music you're after and you're not really bothered about the lyrics - this is a fantastic tune.
Bombshock
This one maybe doesn't work as well on record than it does live, but it's still a good part of the album.
Play The Night
This one starts off sounding like a slower number than the rest, but then, the next thing you know, the lyrics "Get fucked! Get fucked up!" smash in. It's such a weird transition, and doesn't entirely work. This is my least favourite off the album.
Lost
Not so many lyrics on this one, but when there are, they're auto-tuned. An interesting idea that works quite nicely. This is a good closer to the album.
