Kasabian To Release New Single

Kasabian are set to release a second single from their upcoming album, Velociraptor!, on September 12th (a week before the album). The song is entitled Days Are Forgotten, and is the second track on the album.

This follows the first single, Switchblade Smiles, available for free if you pre-order the album from the band's official website.

New Snow Patrol Single Announced

A new Snow Patrol single, entitled Called Out In The Dark, will get its worldwide first play on Thursday 21st July on Zane Lowe's show on Radio 1 - the announcement says between 1900 and 2000 GMT, but I suspect it will be played as the Hottest Record at 19:30.

The single will be released digitally on September 4th, (fully on September 5th) with a new album, the band's sixth, following soon after that.

Potential Coldplay Album Release Date?

A French music website, fnac.com, has a pre-order available for a new Coldplay album, without a title, but with a release date of October 24th. This is a reasonable date, but it remains unconfirmed.

The album is expected to be finished by the time of the band's next gig on 22nd July, which would mean 3 months of preparing for release, which is enough. So we now have a potential date, but I wouldn't take it as given until there is an official announcement.

Have a look at the pre-order here.

New Hard-Fi Songs

Following on from yesterday's announcement of the Killer Sounds tracklist, here are some of the tracks being performed live. I can't find a link for Give It Up, but Feels Good, Stop, Excitement and Killer Sounds haven't been played anywhere yet. Feels Good and Killer Sounds have been heard in podcasts though (see the Killer Sounds album post for more info)

The first two are studo versions:

Good For Nothing (track 1)

Fire In The House (track 2)

Then the others are all live, not pro-shot, so they aren't all good quality, but you can get a general idea of what they sound like:

Bring It On (track 4) (Go here for a studio version preview)

Stay Alive (track 7)

Love Song (track 9)

Sweat (track 10)

New Coldplay Songs

Seven new songs have been debuted at recent Coldplay shows and on their new EP, Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, over the past month, most of which are expected to appear on the band's upcoming fifth album.

Personally, I think six of these seven songs will end up on the band's upcoming fifth album, excluding Moving To Mars. I hope Charlie Brown will be the next single as it's just brilliant, and I suspect MX / Hurts Like Heaven will open the new album. I am estimating a 10th October release date, because MX is 1010 in Roman numerals and it seems to work with live dates; when they plan to finish the record, etc. But it's all speculation and wishful thinking. I will be very smug if I'm right though. :)

Anyway, here are the links. Three are studio versions, three are pro-shot live recordings, and one is live but not pro-shot.
